2007 Committees

Joining a committee is a great way to get involved in PRSSA, and it helps you get to know the other members!  Committee terms are only one semester, so if you don’t like the one you’re on, or committee life isn’t for you, you can switch after first semester.  There are 4 different committees that have different goals and duties.

  1. Publicity Committee

      The publicity committee’s main job is to help promote bi-weekly meetings and other social or service functions.

      Tasks may include:  helping with current PRSSA news on the bulletin board, targeting specific audiences for PRSSA membership, composing publicity flyers, and brainstorming new ways to better publicize PRSSA functions

  1. Meetings Committee

      The meetings committee’s function is to assist the E-board by facilitating the meetings.

      Tasks may include: coordinating refreshments, accommodating speakers, planning an entire meeting, being present at as many social and service functions as possible, and greeting new and returning members

  1. Service Committee

      The service committee’s main focus is to help PRSSA extend its goal as a public relations club and as a community service leader.

      Tasks may include: planning and coordinating specific service functions, brainstorming new service opportunities, and helping other PRSSA members

  1. Mentoring Committee

      The mentoring committee’s purpose is to help pre-Grady students become better informed about the application process and Public Relations as a career.

      The mentoring committee is in charge of facilitating and helping coordinating the mentoring pairs.  They are there to encourage the mentors and mentees and to keep them accountable for their mentoring responsibilities.  Some duties may include: putting together mentoring packets, planning a mentor/mentee get together, being a resource for questions people may have about the program, and creating the mentor/mentee pairs.

  1. PRofessional CONNECTION Committee

      The PRofessional CONNECTION committee’s goal is to facilitate and coordinate the event.

      Tasks may include: planning registration, coordinating decorations, publicizing, selling t-shirts, and organizing any other parts to the day
