Each month we highlight a different PRSSA member who has gone above and beyond in their contributions to our club. The executive board recognizes it is truly our active members that make our organization so productive and worthwhile.
Lauren Rausch is fourth year student, majoring in public relations with a minor in biology and textile science. She is from Augusta, GA. In PRSSA she is the service committee head and the account executive of the Women to the World account under Creative Consultants. She works at Raising Cane's and was able to talk to the owner about doing the billboard outside for the first Tumornators percentage night. She also convinced the Rasing Cane's owner to do Tumornators percentage night once a month, as well as Women to the World once a month.
The service committee is going to focus on the Tumornators, as well as selling the GA/FL t-shirts. Lauren said they are also discussing the idea of a Thanksgiving clothes drive, and possibly some kind of Christmas activity. (They are still in the works!)
With Women to the World, they plan on doing fundraising through Raising Cane's as well as possibly a booth at a festival. They are looking to get UGA involved by donations from different schools within Georgia, along with getting the word out through a brochure, website updating, and news/press releases. Lauren is active, passionate, and dedicated to PRSSA.
OCTOBER Hannah Dasher
Hannah is in her second year at UGA. The senior Public Relations major-Music
Business minor also holds an Assoc. Degree in Liberal Arts from Abraham Baldwin
College. Hannah is from Springfield, Ga. She currently works with
Marketing/Public Relations at the State 4-H office. She is also interning in the
Department of Entertainment at Wild Bill's Atlanta.
Last year, she served on the meetings committee for PRSSA as well as Bulldogs for Brain Train. As a part of the Music Business Program at UGA, Hannah does promotional work for local bands in the Athens area. In her spare time, Hannah is a singer-songwriter.
NOVEMBER and DECEMBER
Member of the month for November and December was determined by our point system. We had so many contenders that went above and beyond for PRSSA that we picked four winners. All four members held leadership positions and had perfect attendance to all meetings. Aaron Barton: Publicity Committee Head
Kristen Smith: Meetings Committee Head
Erica Holland: Registration Committee Head for PRofessional CONNECTION
Jessica Sklanka: Account Executive for the Athens MS Walk Creative Consultants Account
Thanks for all your dedication this semester!
