Research Interests

My research examines the role of alcohol in risky social behaviors, particularly risky sexual behavior and sexual violence against women. I am interested in how alcohol use and expectancies (beliefs about the effects of alcohol) influence the decision-making process involved in risky behaviors. Thus, cognitive models of alcohol use and alcohol-related behavior provide the theoretical framework for my research. Additionally, I am interested in the influences of gender, race and ethnicity on these decision-making processes.
