The Paul D. Coverdell Neuroimaging Training Program
goals are met through the following programs and events.
- The recruitment and training of outstanding graduate students
in the field of neuroimaging, The Paul D. Coverdell Neuroimaging Program
Fellowship funds three graduate students each year. The Fellowships are awarded
on a rotating basis so that typically one or two new fellows are named each year. A
partial stipend is provided, as well as research and travel funds for two years of
graduate study (contingent upon continued excellent performance).
- Onsite visits by renowned researchers in the field of neuroimaging. Onsite
visits by distinguished investigators allow for maximum participation
on the part of interested parties at UGA. In addition to a lecture for
the general population, our visitors spend the day consulting with senior
investigators regarding the evolution of the imaging center and with
graduate students regarding the design and development of projects.
- Dissemination and collection of knowledge
through participation in national conferences relevant to neuroimaging. Graduate
student travel funds afford graduate students
opportunities to attend a topical conference. Preference is given
to students presenting neuroimaging projects completed at the University
of Georgia.
