June, 2004: Department head Dr.
Garnett Stokes is named the Dean
of the Franklin College of Arts & Sciences, heading up the
largest and oldest college at the University of Georgia!
2004: Developmental program adjunct professor Doug
Kleiber was awarded the Theodore
and Franklin Roosevelt Award for Excellence in Recreation and Park
Research -- the highest award bestowed by the national Recreation
and Park Association!
June, 2003: Research in the news -- the work of

July, 2003: Dr. Keith Campbell's
social psychology research has been widely reported in the media,
including the
importance of narcissism and social rejection to school violence,
the relationship
between narcissism and love, increases
in college students' self-esteem over the last 25 years, and
how
having children decreases marital satisfaction (reported in
USA Today).
Fall, 2003: We are pleased to announce the acquisition
of a whole-cortex
magneto-encephalography (MEG) system, which will be part of
our expanding neuroscience research and training program. See the

Alumni
August 2006: Former Ph.D. student
Dr.
Kaye Baron councils soldiers returning from Iraq as well as military families. She is especially
concerned with the prevalent PTSD in returning soldiers. She was recently interviewed on CNBC for her
work with soldiers in the Colorado Springs area.
July,
2004: Former Clinical Ph.D. student Dr.
A. Toy Caldwell-Colbert served as provost and chief academic
officer at Howard University from 2001-2003. She is currently a
Senior Research Associate with the Center for Advancement of Racial
and Ethnic Equity at the American Council on Education, and has
recently been a candidate for president of Kentucky
State University. She also was awarded the 2004
Stanley Sue Award for Distinguished Contributions to Diversity by the APA Division 12, Society of Clinical Psychology.
July, 2004: Dr. Lily Kelly-Radford is a vice president of the
prominent nonprofit Center for Creative Leadership (CCL), and was
recently featured in the APA Monitor.
June
2004: Dr. Page Walley (Clinical Ph.D., 1984)
is commissioner of The Alabama Department of Human Resources,
and is featured in the APA Monitor.
