Welcome to the

This website is designed to help students learn how to:

All documents on this website are in Adobe Acrobat. Despite the increase in download time, this is necessary to assure that the tables and worksheets you will be filling out print out correctly (previous efforts without Adobe resulted in many of the tables and worksheets getting cut in half, depending on the settings of the printer - very unhelpful). If you do not have Adobe Reader, you can download a free version from the link below. The materials on this website work best if you first print out the pages and then work from the printed pages while running SPSS on your computer. Be sure to print using the print button in Adobe, not the print button in your browser! After you have printed the document, just click the "Back" arrow in the upper-left-hand corner to return to this page. Do NOT click "Close", as this will close the entire website and you will have to start over again!

All materials at this site are organized under the test type (i.e., dependent t-test). Clicking on the test type button to the left will take you to the organization page for that specific test type. Here you will find links to an assignment, analysis directions, a key for interperting your output, and guidelines for presenting your results in APA format. All of these materials are designed to work together and several cross-reference each other. All of these materials are strictly "how to" and do not address the underlieing theories or assumptions associated with these analysies.

To help you get started, you will first want to gain an overview of how SPSS works and how to perform basic functions, such as entering data and saving files. You will find this information under SPSS Basics.

It you have any questions or comments, please feel free to contact the author at hamletadams@excite.com .

*all directions are specific to SPSS 12
