Educational Background

Research Interests

Dr. Mullis' research interests include developing intervention approaches for individuals, groups and populations. Her areas of interest include both clinical and community-based programs for chronic disease risk reduction and health promotion. Dr. Mullis is particularly interested in policy and environmental approaches to reducing cardiovascular disease. Currently she is involved in four projects related to these interests: (1) a clinical trial examining the effects of cereal fiber on blood lipids in African Americans; (2) a clinical pilot study to enhance participation in cardiovascular rehabilitation programs; (3) a WEB-based community intervention with related point-of-purchase strategies for low income women and their families; and (4) working with the Department of Human Resources to develop the state plan for cardiocascular risk reduction in Georgia.
