The Georgia Chapter of ASSE awarded an Annual Scholarship in the
amount of $2,000 to Todd D. Smith, MS, AIM, ARM, CSP. Todd is a
graduate research assistant with the Workplace Health Group and is a
doctoral student in the Department of Health Promotion and Behavior,
focusing on workplace safety and health and injury prevention at the
University of Georgia, College of Public Health.
He has over ten years of professional experience as a safety and health consultant in the insurance industry working with a wide variety of organizations. Todd has an undergraduate degree in Exercise Physiology from West Virginia University and a Master of Science in Safety Management from West Virginia University . Todd is an Associate in Management and an Associate in Risk Management of the Insurance Institute of America and is also a Certified Safety Professional.
The American Society of Safety Engineers Foundation, established by and in partnership with the American Society of Safety Engineers, generates funding and provides resources for scholarship, applied research, academic accreditation, and related academic initiatives in order to advance the safety, health, and environmental profession.
