The Traffic Safety Research and Evaluation Group collaborates with state, federal and local stakeholders with interests in traffic safety, including the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) and the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety (GOHS), to conduct research on effective health promotion interventions and to assess and document program outcomes.

and discovery about interactions between environmental factors and
human health is conducted in the College of Public Health.
Research Highlights
The Environmental Health Science Department conducts applied laboratory and computational research to characterize the environmental and public health risks posed by chemicals and pathogens.
The Health Policy and Management Department conducts applied research in the areas of health disparities, quality of life assessment, health economics,
and program and economic evaluation, to assess the impact that policies and programs have on population-level health.
The Institute of Gerontology is the hub for coordinating and conducting the University of Georgia’s education, research, and outreach services associated
with the study of aging and older adults.
Traffic Safety Research and Evaluation Group (TSREG) is dedicated to reducing the morbidity and mortality caused by traffic crashes through interdisciplinary
research identifying effective program strategies and best practices for highway safety planning. TSREG collaborates with state, federal and local stakeholders with interests in traffic safety to conduct research on effective health promotion interventions and to assess and document program outcomes.
The Workplace Health Group conducts research on workplace health and organizational effectiveness. This work is fostered through multi-disciplinary collaboration and partnerships with business and industry.
The Youth Violence Prevention Group conducts research on the study and prevention of school violence and bullying and the promotion of positive, caring school environments.

Research in the college is sponsored by federal and private organizations including the National Institutes of Health, National Science Foundation, Environmental Protection Agency, Food and Drug Administration, the Department of Agriculture, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, and the Georgia Governor's Office of Highway Safety. The knowledge gained from these studies addresses the needs of local, state, national, and international organizations working to promote quality of life for people in Georgia, the United States, and elsewhere.
