On The Loop
Proceed on Loop 10 until reaching College Station Road (Exit 7). Exit off Loop 10. Turn left onto College Station Road at the bottom of the ramp. After passing under the by-pass bridge, go through two traffic lights, then turn right at the third light onto East Campus Road. Continue on East Campus Road past Sanford Stadium, then turn left onto Hooper Street. Parking will be available in the lots immediately on your right. After parking, continue to walk down Hooper away from East Campus Road. The Journalism building is the large, five-story building located at the corner of Sanford and Hooper.
Travelling North on US 129/411
Take US 129/441 or GA 15 North into Watkinsville (Highway 15 and US 129 join here). Go north into Athens. Approaching Athens, at the Clarke County line, there will be a sign indicating Highway 441 North and a right turn (there will also be a sign for the University of Georgia). Turn right at this sign onto Athens Perimeter/Loop 10. Proceed from On The Loop directions.
Travelling South on US 411
Take US 441 South, continuing on after reaching Commerce for approximately 20 miles. Travel under the Athens Perimeter/Loop 10 and immediately take a left onto it. Continue on the Athens Perimeter following signs for the GA Loop 10 (you will have to exit to stay on the Loop). Proceed from On The Loop directions.
Travelling South on GA 106 or US 29
Take GA 106 South to Athens. GA 106 joins Athens Perimeter/Loop 10. Proceed from On The Loop directions.
Travelling South on US 129
Travel south on Highway 129 to Athens. Upon reaching the outskirts of Athens, remain on Highway 129, crossing the bridge which passes over the Athens Perimeter/Loop 10. Follow Loop 10 eastbound to the fourth exit and exit to the right in order to stay on Loop 10. Proceed from On The Loop directions.
Travelling East on US 78
Travel east on US 78 to Athens. Exit right onto GA 316 at the stoplight (there will be a sign for South Athens) and proceed on GA 316 to the Athens Perimeter/Loop 10. Bear right onto Loop 10 traveling east (there will be a sign for the University of Georgia/Athens Bypass). Proceed from On The Loop directions.
Travelling East on GA 316
Proceed on GA 316 East for approximately 40 miles. Make sure not to exit at the first exit for Athens/Monroe at Highway 78, but continue until you see the signs for the Athens Perimeter/Loop 10. Bear right onto Loop 10 traveling east (there will be a sign for the University of Georgia/Athens Bypass). Proceed from On The Loop directions.
Travelling West on US 78
Take US 78 West to Athens. In Athens, travel under the Athens Perimeter/Loop 10, then take a left at the next traffic light onto the Loop going westbound. Proceed from On The Loop directions.
Travelling on nearby interstates
- I-85 North: Travel on I-85 North to GA 316 (exit #106). Follow 316 East directions.
- I-85 South: Travel on I-85 South to Commerce (exit #149). Follow 441 South directions.
- I-20 West: Travel on I-20 West to exit #172. Follow 78 West directions.
