Our Mission:
Rho
Tau
is a club for University of Georgia undergraduates who intend to
attend physical therapy school, or have an interest in the field
of physical therapy. We are open to exercise science majors as
well as other majors who are interested in physical therapy.
How to Join:
In
order to be a member of Rho
Tau this year all you have to do is:
simply attend, pay your dues, and enroll on the
Rho Tau
listserv which will provide you excellent information about the
application process. Dues are $20 for the year and include your
Rho Tau
t-shirt. This money is used for small gifts for our speakers,
food, and publicity purposes. You are able to pay with cash or
checks made out to Rho
Tau. If you are interested
in joining, send an e-mail to a current officer for more
information or visit us during one of our meetings (see
schedule). To enroll on the Rho Tau listserv, contact a current
officer with the address you would like added.
What we Do:
During the fall semesters,
we have speakers who are representatives from the 5 PT schools
in Georgia - Emory, Georgia State University, Armstrong Atlantic
State University, Medical College of Georgia, and North Georgia
College and State University. These speakers come and talk to
the students about their schools' programs and admissions
requirements and also answer any questions students may have
about the programs.
In the spring semester, we have local
Athens physical therapists from different settings (acute care,
pediatric, etc.) come and speak about their own physical therapy
experiences. This is a great way to find out about specialties,
volunteer opportunities, and the wide range of options available
in the field of physical therapy.
