Research Interests: I am interested in music cognition (how we process musical structures), and the domain specificity of the processes involved. I would like to explore to what extent there is commonality with spoken language perception and voice perception. More specifically, I will investigate whether the same processes involved in the perception of emotions in spoken language are also involved in the perception of music.

Research Interests: My research focus is on emotion expression and perception in nonhuman primates. Through comparative cognition research across species I hope to better understand the evolutionary mechanisms mediating sex differences in primate social interactions.  We work with the Primate Cognition and Behavior Laboratory.
