Feb. 9, 2006 Attending: Tammy, Martin, John, Tim, Alfie, Teela 1. Determine what events we would like to hold this semester. We felt there are several kinds of advantageous events: - core group (activity oriented) - educational open events - social events Events in the past have included: - river clean-up (River's Alive - statewide event in March or April) - re-seeding native grass (fall) - alumni week - walking tour of sustainable sites on campus - rain gardens, porous pavements (April, Fall) - Movie night - Greenmap (too much work) - habitat for humanity 2. We've decided to try to do the following this term: - Movie night (John to organize) - Speaker event (Tammy to organize) - Alumni week (Teela to organize) - Social activity (Tim to organize) - Privet pull (Tammy to organize) We agreed that we would like to have one event a month to keep visibility and involvement high. 3. Treasurer's Report - $176.90 in account - We need to apply for club funding for next year - Alfie brought a copy of a grant application for GNPS 4. Other Items - we would like to procure an ecology representative for the club - website/calendar needs updating (Teela) - we discussed that it would be nice to submit an article to Georgia Landscape or Grad School Newsletter - link to ECOS EDI on website
