Hello and welcome to the new online home of the Student Government Association at the University of Georgia! Since taking office in April, we have been working diligently to ensure the student voice is heard all throughout campus. We are striving each day to fulfill our contract with all 34,000 students at the University of Georgia aiming to:
1. Take stewardship of the Student Activity Fee 2. Improve the academic environment for students 3. Ensure student safety 4. Ensure access to services we pay for 5. Work toward a more equitable judicial policy.

SGA GAINS CONTROL OF STUDENT
ACTIVITY FEE
October 27, 2009 - The
Student Government Association has recently gained control of the Student
Activity Fee and will begin allocating $1.8 million to student organizations and
clubs. This is the greatest advancement SGA has made in decades.

Professor
Recognition Banquet
Apply now! Have you had
a great professor who you think should be recognized for his or her service and
dedication? Then nominate him or her for a teaching award! If you are chosen,
you and your professor get to attend a dinner together where your professor
will receive an award. This is a great way to get to know a professor you
already think is great even better, not to mention get in his or her good
graces. Please bring the application by
Campus Life Office in the bottom of Tate to submit your application!
2009 Beat Tech Food Drive
The Student Government
Association, along with the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia, is challenging
Georgia Tech to a Food Fight. Last year, the Food Bank collected around 23,000
cans and helped an innumerable amount of families. This year, we are making the
same challenge, but we want to collect even more cans. The goal is to double
the amount of cans collected and impact an even greater number of families.
We would like to invite all
campus groups and organizations to get involved and join the Food Fight against
Georgia Tech. Attached is a flyer with more information about the annual Food
Fight.
