About Your Student Government PDF Print E-mail

The Student Government Association (SGA) of the University of Georgia is the organized voice for each student of the University of Georgia. SGA strives to protect students' rights and to advocate on behalf of the students' welfare in the university community. The organization also serves as a liaison between students and the administrative bodies on campus.

All students at the University of Georgia who pay their Student Activity Fees become members of SGA. However, only committee members, elected officials, and appointed officials are considered active.

Just like the governments of the United States, SGA is organized into three branches: Executive, Legislative, and Judicial. Different branches work together in order to achieve the goals of SGA for the academic year.
