Library to have football tour

The Richard B. Russell Building Special Collections Libraries will have a Football Friday Tour Sept. 4 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the rotunda. The guided tour will be of “Undisputed: Georgia’s 1980 National Championship,” an exhibit of materials from the UGA Athletic Association Archives.

Football season opens at home

The Bulldog football team returns to the gridiron Sept. 5 at noon in Sanford Stadium to open the season against University of Louisiana-Monroe. The SEC Network will televise the game.

WUGA-FM sponsoring Jazz Festival
WUGA-FM is sponsoring the 2015 Athens Jazz Festival Sept. 6 from 1 to 7 p.m. on the lawn of the Georgia Center for Continuing Education. Performing will be the Classic City Dixiedawgs, Classic City Swing Band, Peachtree Band of Jazz, Mary Sigalas (above), Artie Ball Swing Band and Trey Wright.
