Research Activities

In the Skill Development Lab, we study how we become skilled tool users and how skilled tool users differ from beginners. We analyze how people control the movements of a hand-held tool by moving their arms and hands. We also study how the properties of the object (such as weight, length, and shape) affect the actor's movements and efficiency. We look at these issues in adults and young children
