Dia De Los Muertos

El Dia de los Muertos (The Day of the Dead) is a traditional Mexican holiday. The festivities occurs on the 1st and 2nd days of Novemeber. Traditions include building private altars honoring the deceased, and using sugar skulls, marigolds, and the favorite foods and beverages of the departed. Here are UGA, SLE celebrates El Dia de los Muertos by building "altares" similar to the beautiful, detailed traditional ones of Mexico. In these altars we pay tribute to people who have recently died for noble causes or who were victims of havoc (i.e.American soldiers, the women of Ciudad Juarez, the victims of the Peruvian earthquake, etc).
