Rhetorical Studies Awards and Offices
The faculty have won numerous top paper awards at national and international conferences and we have served in many leadership positions. A short list of examples is provided below:
B. Biesecker is currently Editor of the Forum Series published in Communication and Critical/Cultural Studies, 2007-2009.
B. Biesecker, Associate Editor, The Quarterly Journal of Speech. Spring 1998-Summer 2000, Spring 2004-2007 (2005-2007 issues), 2008-2010.

B. Biesecker was named The National Communication Association’s Douglas Ehninger Distinguished Rhetorical Scholar in 2007.

C. Condit was co-editor with Bonnie J. Dow of Women's Studies in Communication and Critical Studies in Media Communication.
C. Condit was appointed Distinguished Research Professor at the University of Georgia 1999-2004 and reappointed 2004-2009.
C. Condit elected National Communication Association Distinguished Scholar in 2002.
C. Condit (with John Lucaites) won the Marie Hochmuth Nichols Award for Outstanding Scholarship in Public Address in 1994 for Crafting Equality.
C. Condit was awarded NCA’s Douglas Ehninger Distinguished Rhetorical Scholar Award in 1998.
K. Happe won the 2003 Best Dissertation of the Year Award, Women’s Studies Program, University of Pittsburgh.
K. Happe was awarded an Andrew Mellon Pre-Doctoral Fellowship, University of Pittsburgh, 1999-2000 .
K. Happe won a Cultural Studies Fellowship from the Cultural Studies Program at the University of Pittsburgh, 1998-1999.
K. Happe is the Secretary of The American Forensics Association (2006-2008).

E. Panetta was the 2007 recipient of the Glen Pelhan National Debate Coach of the Year Award.
