The conference will be held at the Downtown Athens Holiday Inn, 197 E. Broad St., Athens, GA 30603.
The Holiday Inn is conveniently located on the edge of the UGA campus and downtown Athens, and is within easy walking distance to a variety of bars, restaurants, and shops.
Rooms are available at a special conference rate ($86.00 for a double) at the Holiday Inn. To get this rate, you must mention the conference code: PAF.
Rooms are also available at a slightly lower rate ($76.00 for a double) at the Holiday Inn Express, located two blocks west of the Holiday Inn at 513 W. Broad Street (easily walkable to the Downtown Holiday Inn). To get this rate, you must mention the conference code: PAF.
To make reservations for either hotel, call 706-549-4433 (local) or 800-862-8436 and specify the hotel at which you wish to make a reservation. To guarantee availability, you must make a reservation by September 10, 2002. They will require a credit card to hold your reservation.
Flying to Atlanta:
Athens is located approximately 70 miles northeast of Atlanta, GA. Hartsfield International Airport in Atlanta is serviced by all major airlines. The AAA Airport Shuttle Service provides transportation between the Atlanta Airport and both the Holiday Inn and the Holiday Inn Express for a fee of $30.00 each way (cash and credit cards accepted). Shuttles leave the Atlanta airport approximately every two hours between 9 AM and 10 PM; the trip to Athens takes 1 ½ hours (likewise, shuttles leave the hotels for the Atlanta airport approximately every two hours between 6 AM and 6 PM). Flying to Athens:
US Air provides service to the Athens Ben Epps Airport. Upon landing, call the Holiday Inn (706-549-4433) and a Holiday Inn Shuttle will pick you up; you can also call to make a shuttle reservation a few days prior to your arrival. The Holiday Inn will also shuttle you back to the Athens airport on your departure.
