- The Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice (AB)
- The Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs (AB)
- The Bachelor of Arts in Political Science (AB)
- The Master of Arts in Political Science (MA)
- The Doctor of Philosophy in Political Science (PhD)
- The Master of Public Administration (MPA)
- The Doctorate in Public Administration (DPA)
- The Doctor of Philosophy in Public Administration (PhD)
Our alumni are achievers. You are in every branch of government service. You lead large corporations, local businesses, and non-profit agencies. Many of you now practice law or hold faculty positions across the country, and the world. Our success to date is owed to the achievements of alumni like you and our future depends upon your support.
There are many benefits for alumni from your affiliation with the new School of Public and International Affairs such as the knowledge that their major area of study is considered a top academic priority at UGA; the increased value and national recognition of your degree; and the new potential for a close-knit, re-energized alumni network. There are many ways you can help the new School of Public and International Affairs achieve its goals. Here are just a few suggestions on how to get involved.
Make a Gift
The School of Public and International Affairs enjoys the strong support of the University, but alumni, parents and friends also play a critical role in achieving our long term vision for this exciting new academic initiative. We encourage you to make an annual gift to the School every year. Click here to make your gift online now. In addition to annual operating needs, the Dean and faculty have identified a number of critical needs that require substantial investment; privately supported professorships, program funds, and graduate scholarships are among our top priorities. Please contact Sarah Baines, Director of Development, for more information about giving to the School of Public and International Affairs at 706-542-9661 or sbaines@uga.edu.
Recruit the Next Generation
Particularly for our graduate programs, we rely on word of mouth to encourage exceptional applicants. Please contact our Degree Program Specialist, Geneva Bradberry, if you know a prospective student interested in the School of Public and International Affairs at 706-542-2948 or polgrad@uga.edu.
Host a SPIA Spotlight
Members of the faculty are available to meet with alumni, professional groups or associations. Just a few topics that might be interesting and useful include: the Georgia state budget, homeland security, weapons of mass destruction (WMD) and the new security culture, human capital management, challenges to peace in the Korean peninsula, the new American foreign policy, presidential elections, and the politics of the South. You can help by hosting such an event in your home, office or community center. As a Spotlight volunteer, your role will include finding a location for the event, ensuring a heathly turnout of a minimum of 15 guests, and working with SPIA staff to coordinate the guest list, invitations and refreshments. If you are interested, please call Sarah Baines at 706-542-9661 or sbaines@uga.edu.
Create an Internship
While the classroom is where learning begins, our students crave real world opportunities to test their knowledge and skills. Do you work in a government agency, non-profit organization, or related corporate field? Our graduate students, in particular those in the Master of Public Administration program, would be a valuable asset to your work while gaining valuable experience. Please contact Lisa Sperling, MPA Program Specialist, for more information on creating an internship opportunity at 706-542-9583 or sperling@uga.edu.
