STUDENT-ATHLETES TAKING SUMMER SCHOOL SOMEWHERE OTHER THAN UGA

BEFORE THE END OF SPRING SEMESTER, you must confirm the following with Glada Horvat:

1.  Will the courses you take transfer to UGA?  This is done by filling out the NCAA Approval Form that is linked below.  It can be filled out on the computer and then printed off (follow the instructions on the form).  You select the college you wish to attend and the courses you wish to take before filling out the form.  You can list multiple courses on the form and you can fill out the form for more than one school.

You may also check transfer courses for yourself on the UGA Admissions transfer equivalency table BUT YOU STILL MUST DO THE PAPERWORK TO USE THE COURSE FOR ELIGIBILITY. The table has many schools but not all. The site is http://www.admissions.uga.edu/7_trans_equiv_search.html

2. Have you completed the admission process to be accepted at the summer institution?  You must meet the deadlines and fill out necessary applications at the school you wish to attend for summer. The UGA Registrar's Office link below will provide you with the information needed to show you are in good standing at UGA to get admitted as a transient at another institution. If a transient letter is needed, you will request it on OASIS on the "letter of certification" section under "Student Records".

Click here for UGA transient information and Click here for NCAA approval form -- you must complete both forms to use the credit for eligibility.

3.  At the end of the course, be sure to have an official transcript sent to:

Glada Horvat, P.O. Box 1472, Athens, GA  30603 so she can deliver it to UGA Admissions for PROMPT posting to your academic record at UGA.

DO NOT GO HOME FOR THE SUMMER WITHOUT GIVING GLADA THE INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR SUMMER COURSES!
