Hello, I am James Mason. I was a research technician II at the University of Georgia Savannah River Ecology Laboratory(SREL). I worked on the SERDP sandhills project for Dr. Rebecca Sharitz. The objective of the project is to evaluate "the effects of forest management practices and military training activities on the Fall Line sandhills community and the suite of threatened and endangered plant and animal species (TES) that they contain." During my time at SREL, my primary duties included participating in sampling of areas where targeted TES occur and other areas with suitable habitat, taking inventories of population sizes, and identifying the sandhill locations that appear to be optimal for expanding TES populations through reintroductions.
