I
currently work the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory as a Research Coordinator.
I also serve as facilitator of the SREL greenhouse and growth chamber
complexes. Presently, my research interests revolve around phytoremediation:
especially the biomass and uptake potential of less investigated native
plants (i.e. sesbania, water tupelo, bald cypress) and unconventional
crops (i.e. amaranth, kenaf, marigold, and teosinte). In the past my work has involved assisting in the development of research projects involving precipitation chemistry, tree seedling nutrition, and response of seedlings to environmental perturbations. Other projects have included transuranic uptake studies, thermal tolerance studies of cattails, and tolerance of plants to by-products of coal power electric generation.
