Call them what you like. We have assembled a variety of information
you may find useful.
Some of you may have been forwarded to this site from other locations,
especially the sites that contained information from when Travis Glenn was a
graduate student at the Smithsonian's Lab of
Molecular Systematics (which I guess is now part of the Laboratories of Analytical Biology) and a
post-doc at the University of South
Carolina. Rather than having multiple sites with outdated information
on each of them, we have consolidated everything onto this one site.
Information that is completely outdated has been eliminated, but old
information that has some use is still available by following links from this
page.
Microsatellite Protocols
All of our latest protocols are posted to our Protocols web
page. We have used our latest protocol (Glenn & Schable 2005) for
hundreds of species, covering all eukaryotic kingdoms of life. Please,
please, _please_ stop using the old protocols.
Microsatellite List Serve
Please see the Microsat-L
web page.
Microsatellite DNA Development
We are now developing microsatellite DNA loci at SREL on a
cost-reimbursement basis.
This is explained in great detail on the linked web pages below.
Many additional labs that develop microsatellite DNA loci are given on the
Microsat-L web page.
For more information, contact Travis Glenn (Glenn@srel.edu) or Cris Hagen (Hagen@srel.edu).
