The Par Pond thermal cooling facility in 1992, following a drawdown of 5.7 meters.

This exposed 5.3 km² of sediments contaminated by ¹³⁷Cs.  Activity of the upper 15 cm of the sediments (1993) was approximately 700 Bq kg^-1, with native vegetation containing 2,300 Bq ¹³⁷Cs kg^-1.  The total inventory for the system was estimated at 1.6 x 10¹² Bq of ¹³⁷Cs.
