The study was conducted over six growing seasons, with sediment samples, collected periodically from the plots, and analyzed for 137Cs activity. Analysis of 137Cs in harvested plant material showed greater accumulation in leaf tissue than in roots. The relative activity of plant material in comparison with controls indicated that the amendments became less effective as the study progressed.
