Between Body Size, Size of the Fat Bodies, and Total Lipid Content in the
Canebrake Rattlesnake (Crotalus horridus) and the Black Racer (Coluber
constrictor)

Abstract
The statistical relationships between wet and dry
body weights, wet and dry weights of the fat bodies, and lipid content of the
fat bodies and of the entire body were determined for the canebrake rattlesnake
(Crotalus horridus) and the black racer (Coluber constrictor).
The results indicate highly significant correlations between certain
variables. The most useful
relationship is that total lipid content can be confidently estimated once the
wet weight of the paired fat bodies is determined.
