Plant biology and phytoremediation

I am interested in many aspects of plant biology, but my current research is in an area called phytoremediation, which is the use of plants to clean pollutants from the environment. This process can be used for many types of pollutants, from toxic metals in soil, solvents in groundwater, volatile compounds in air, gasoline additives, preservatives, or persistent organic chemicals in soil or water.
