Outreach Ecotalks

The Outreach Program at the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory annually presents about 300 talks to school, civic and professional groups. Educators give 45-minute to one-hour talks with live animals as visual aides. Topics can include animal adaptations, biodiversity, ecology of the southeastern U.S. Coastal Plain, endangered species, habitat destruction, and natural resource conservation.

The following are some guidelines for Ecotalks:

• Provide an indoor area that is free of noise or other distractions, and large enough to accommodate the audience.
• If outdoors, cannot be in full sun and temperature cannot exceed 85°F
