PROPOSED OBJECTIVES

Apply statistical analyses, uncertainty analyses, and the collaborators' collective wisdom concerning southeastern pond limnology to test and refine components of a model for ¹³⁷Cs dynamics in Pond B

Test the improved model using independent data sets from the concurrent radiotracer study by Hinton et al. in Ponds 4 and 5

Use the model to evaluate the reliability of predictions about the fate of ¹³⁷Cs in Pond B and similar habitats and to identify areas of research which might lead to significant improvements in these predictions

Convene a workshop to evaluate commonalities and divergences in processes regulating the fate of ¹³⁷Cs in lakes of different types, in different regions of the world.
