Green Frog
Bronze Frog

The color of the green frog is highly variable and is sometimes more brown than green. In the southern part of its range it is often called "bronze" frog because of its coloration. The dark green or brown skin of the frog is sometimes speckled with small dark spots, although they are generally not as vivid as those on a leopard frog. Those individuals that are heavily spotted can be distinguished from leopard frogs by the length of their dorsolateral ridges, which extend only about three-fourths of the way down the back. In leopard frogs the ridges go all the way down. The green frog can be encountered in many wet habitats. Its banjo-like breeding call can be heard from March to August.
