Brian S. Metts

- Research Coordinator/Ph. D. Student-

       Brian is a Research Coordinator and Ph. D. student at the Savannah River Ecology Laboratory.  He received his Bachelors degree from the University of South Carolina-Aiken, and his Masters degree from Clemson University.  His Master’s research focused on the impacts of beaver impoundments on herpetofaunal populations.  Brian is involved in a number of ongoing research projects at SREL including a herpetofaunal survey in Sumter National Forest, the long-running Rainbow Bay study, and the ecology of golf course wetlands. Brian is especially interested in the life history characteristics of salamanders in the southeastern U.S.
