Betsie Rothermel

Betsie Rothermel joined the Savannah River Ecology Lab as a Research Associate in September of 2003, after receiving her Ph.D. in Biological Sciences at the University of Missouri-Columbia. As a postdoctoral researcher at SREL (2003-2006), she examined how habitat fragmentation and landscape composition influence the dispersal success and population dynamics of amphibians in the context of the LEAP study. She also investigated the incidence of a fungal pathogen (Batrachochytrium dendrobatidis) in national parks in the Southeast.

Betsie is now an Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator in the Center of Excellence for Field Biology at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee.
