     Had a high school biology teacher, Major Rhodes, who really emphasized natural history and field excursions. Changed my life. Lost some hair. Went to college, did more biology, lost more hair. Worked for a year doing autopsies, helped start a Nature Center, and got motivated to go to grad school. A little of this, a little of that, some experimental design in ecology... talk, talk, talk. Finally to SREL, where I started sampling turtles in radioactive seepage basins. Little hair left. And now I find out that salamanders have testosterone levels way higher than mine. Life's a big pitfall trap, and I'm just floatin' on the sponge...
