The Department of Student Affairs Assessment
provides professional leadership, expertise, and technical assistance to the Division of Student Affairs in developing, conducting, and maintaining high quality assessment, evaluation, and research projects. Results from these projects provide the Division of Student Affairs and the University community with an increased understanding of our students.

Our Mission is to:

  • Support the Division of Student Affairs in strategic planning efforts and initiatives, including implementation of the Division's Planning Model

  • Collaborate/consult with Student Affairs departments, staff members, faculty and students in developing and implementing various assessment and research projects

  • Develop and maintain technical systems that will expand and enhance assessment, evaluation, and research efforts of the Departments and the Division of Student Affairs

  • Expand and enhance professional training and development opportunities related to assessment for staff and faculty in the Division of Student Affairs and other interested University of Georgia faculty, staff, and graduate students outside the Division

  • Serve as a resource to the University community

  • Promote and implement ethical principles and standards of good practice related to assessment, evaluation, and research, such as those developed by the Council for Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS), regional/national accrediting agencies, relevant professional organizations, the University of Georgia, and the University System of Georgia

    and other large national instrument administrations for the University
