What is Student Affairs?
The Division of Student Affairs is a collective of student programs and services here at UGA including Campus Life, Disability Resources, Greek Life, Intercultural Affairs, Student Support Services, University Housing, University Health Center, and Recreational Sports.

How do I get a class absence excused?
Only your instructor can excuse your absence. You should contact your instructor or refer to your syllabus to determine if your absence will be excused and if you will be allowed to make up the missed work. Student Affairs does not excuse absences or verify student documentation for routine absences.

Why won't OASIS allow me to withdraw?
There are many reasons why, and following are just a few:1) OASIS may be closed. Check the Schedule of Classes or call the Registrar at 542-4040.
2) If the withdrawal deadline has passed, you will not be able to withdraw on OASIS. Please access our withdrawal page for more information.
3) If you have registered but have not paid your tuition and fees, OASIS may not allow you to withdraw. Call the Bursar's Office for assistance (542-2965).
4) If you have any flags on your record, you will not be allowed to withdraw or register until those flags are cleared. Call the source of your flag.

What is the difference between "Drop" and "Withdraw"?
You may “DROP” individual classes or your entire schedule only during the Drop period. Dropping a class removes the course entirely from your schedule resulting in no grade, no attempted hours, and does allow for a refund for that course. After the Drop period, you must “WITHDRAW” to cancel any or all of your classes. Students should withdraw themselves on OASIS up until the withdrawal deadline. After the withdrawal deadline, students can no longer withdraw on OASIS but must make that request through Student Support Services. Students are allowed only four (4) career withdrawals at UGA before all subsequent withdrawals receive an automatic grade of ‘WF’ (Withdraw Failing). Withdrawing from a class will result in a grade of ‘WP’ (Withdraw Passing) or ‘WF’ (Withdraw Failing). A Withdrawal counts as attempted hours, counts toward the limited number of withdrawals allowed, and does not initiate a refund.

I have a final exam conflict. What do I do?
If you have three finals scheduled for the same day or two scheduled for the same time, go to www.bulletin.uga.edu and click on the link for Final Exam Schedule Conflicts. You will be taken to a set of directions on petitioning for a change in exam times. You may also call the Office of Curriculum Systems at 542-6358. Personal conflicts with a scheduled final must be handled by the student, with the instructor, who will approve or deny it.

Where do I get my transcript/how do I get my transcript sent to another college?
The Office of the Registrar will help you with any transcript requests.

I need proof of attendance for insurance purposes. Where do I get that?
The Office of the Registrar can give you the proof you need.

Where do I pay for my classes or other fees owed to the university?
At the Bursar's Office in Room 105 of the Business Services Building at 424 East Broad Street.

Where do I go for information about the HOPE scholarship, student loans, and grants?
Go to Student Financial Aid in the Holmes/Hunter Academic Building, second floor.

Who do I talk to about Orientation?
Please call Undergraduate Admissions at (706) 542-8776 or go to their office in Terrell Hall.

Who do I talk to about graduation exercises?
The Office of the Registrar's web site gives details on all commencement ceremonies except for the School of Law, College of Veterinary Medicine, and College of Pharmacy.

Where do I get the Schedule of Classes?
For the Bulletin, undergraduates should go to the Admissions office in Terrell Hall. Graduate students should go to the Boyd Graduate Studies building to the Graduate Admissions office. The Schedule of Classes is distributed to all the departments on campus. You can also find them online at bulletin.uga.edu and www.reg.uga.edu/or.nsf/html/soc.

Where do I get my student ID?
The Tate Student Center makes all student IDs.

Who should I talk to about academic problems or questions?
Talk with your professor first.  If you need additional academic assistance, see the Division of Academic Enhancement website (www.uga.edu/dae) for information about tutoring, writing and study strategy assistance, academic counseling, and other sources of free academic assistance.  For course grade issues, you may need to talk with your advisor or head of the department. From there, speak to the dean of the college, then the Vice President for Instruction
