Parents and Families Grants

A primary focus of the UGA Parents & Families Association is to support the Parents & Families Fund. Money contributed to the fund through memberships and donations provides grants to University schools, colleges, units, departments/divisions or recognized student organizations for projects and programs which enhance the quality of life for undergraduates.

2008 Grant Cycle

November 1, 2007: Grant applications for 2007 grants available via the Student Affairs Development Office or Web site.

January 18, 2008: Deadline for submission of applications to Parents & Families Office/Student Affairs.  NO APPLICATIONS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS DATE.

January 18 - February 12, 2008: Compilation, review and distribution of applications to screening committee.

March 4, 2008: Meeting of Screening Committee to compile slate of applications moving forward to Parents’ Council for vote.

March 5 - March 14, 2008: Compilation of abbreviated project descriptions, applicants, proposal amounts for review by full Council at spring meeting.

April 5, 2008: Spring Meeting of Parents’ Leadership Council—formal vote for funding proposed projects.

April 9, 2008: Notification of grant awards to recipients.
