Staff Development

The Division of Student Affairs is committed to creating a satisfying work environment where every employee is afforded the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. The mission of the Staff Achievement Innovation and Leadership (SAIL) Team is to make this vision a reality by providing programs that facilitate professional development, skill development, and personal development. Our objectives are to:

• Increase the effectiveness of our departments and the Division as a whole by empowering employees through education and training;
• Recognize and celebrate, formally and informally, the outstanding accomplishments and efforts of Student Affairs staff;
• Foster a supportive, friendly, and respectful community among staff;
• Identify and address issues and trends of common interest to staff;
• Facilitate the process of staff sharing professional knowledge, expertise, and resources with other staff.

SAIL is co-chaired by Dr. Jan Davis Barham, Assistant to the Vice President for Assessment and Staff Development, and Leslie Atchley, Coordinator of Assessment and Staff Development. Its members include:
