Staff Achievement Innovation & Leadership (SAIL) Team

Our objectives are to:

  • Increase the effectiveness of our departments and the Division as a whole by empowering employees through education and training;
  • Recognize and celebrate, formally and informally, the outstanding accomplishments and efforts of Student Affairs staff;
  • Foster a supportive, friendly, and respectful community among staff;
  • Identify and address issues and trends of common interest to staff;
  • Facilitate the process of staff sharing professional knowledge, expertise, and resources with other staff.

SAIL is chaired by Dr. Jan Davis Barham, Assistant to the Vice President for Assessment and Staff Development. Its members include:

The Division of Student Affairs Annual Awards and Recognition event recognizes the achievements of our gifted and dedicated staff and allows us to be reminded of our mission to enhance student learning at the University of Georgia.

Assessment

The Division of Student Affairs is committed to creating a satisfying work environment where every employee is afforded the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive. To this end, it is critical that we assess the needs and desires of our staff to determine how best to serve them. In September 2005 we developed and distributed the survey to full-time staff of the Division of Student Affairs. We learned quite a bit and plan to continue to assess our work as a whole as well as the individual events we sponsor.
