The Department
of History at the University of Georgia
is pleased to be hosting the Sixth Southern Conference on Women's History,
June 5-7, 2003 in Athens, Georgia. The Department of History at UGA
has a long and distinguished record in southern studies. We look forward
to the 2003 meeting of the SAWH,
whose tradition of diverse and innovative scholarship has done so much
to enrich southern history. The conference will be held on the university's
beautiful North campus, conveniently located within a five-minute walk
from downtown Athens,
featuring historic architecture, an abundance of restaurants and cafes,
eclectic shops, and a thriving music scene.
Through spring 2003, this website
will provide necessary information for the conference participants and
attendees. As the conference date approaches, we will post registration
materials and add further details about the meeting. You can discuss
ideas for papers, panel, or workshops with other interested scholars,
and you can search for roommates or rideshares.
