Achieving Academic Excellence Through
Rigor, Relevance and Reflection
April 14-15, 2006
Unicoi State Park and Conference Center
Helen, GA
This symposium addresses the challenges and opportunities for achieving academic rigor, relevance and student learning at UGA. In particular, the symposium examines how our students learn, relationships between rigor and learning, how faculty can create rigorous learning environments and the resources needed to achieve and sustain these learning environments. This Symposium was motivated by a need to continue faculty dialogue on implementing the recommendations of the Task Force on General Education and Student Learning. ____________________________________________
