Before
I came to CHRIST, I had a good understanding of what JESUS had done
for me by giving his life on the cross and being raised from the
dead. I grew up going
to church mainly because my father is a minister.
I knew many of the important answers with my head but my
heart was still being prepared.
When I was 12 years old, I felt GOD’s calling for my life,
I repented of my sins, and He came into my heart.
I was very young in my faith and was eager to live my life
for Him.
GOD
surrounded me with great Christian friends who had the same
lifestyle interests. I
really did not have my faith tested much in middle school and high
school. I stood strong
for JESUS, but it was easy. My
faith had been spoon fed to me.
Going off
to college was very tough on me.
I brought JESUS along with me, but He wound up on the back
burner most of the time. I put baseball and myself before JESUS most of the time.
My priorities were mixed up.
I got the opportunity to play summer ball after my freshman
year. I was all by
myself and had no one to turn to that summer.
GOD was waiting on me to find out things for myself in His
Word. During my
sophomore year, I still struggled with my pride and putting myself
first. GOD was
constantly teaching and refining me. I was able to experience the college world series and enjoy
the time with my team.
Coming
into my junior year, I was really praying for GOD to change my
heart. He sent me a
best friend that encouraged me and spurred me on toward JESUS.
I was challenged to seek after GOD and claim my faith as my
own. GOD gave me a
peace that I was to marry this girl.
This relationship with her has helped me draw closer to GOD
and hold onto Him. He
is my comfort and my provider; He is Truth.
Everyday I realize what a mess I am and my daily need for
CHRIST. I still feel
young in my faith, but I desire to grow daily.
JESUS will always be there for me.
