The Largest Fraternity in the world
Tau Kappa Epsilon is redefining the fraternity experience and Greek life at the University of Georgia. Our focus is simple: Provide a challenging environment for members to pursue academic excellence, personal growth, and leadership development.
Tau Kappa Epsilon was founded on January 10, 1899 at the Illinois Wesleyan University. TKE was formed with the belief that the essential elements of true brotherhood are love, charity, and esteem. The development of a strong brotherhood is a major focus of our Chapter; therefore, we are dedicated to recognizing the personal worth and character of each and every brother.
TKE is currently the largest social fraternity in the world with 268 active chapters and nearly 240,000 total initiates. The Xi Lambda Chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon was founded on March 25, 1972. Since then, there have been over 800 men initiated into the Fraternity, and our Chapter has won 13 "Top Teke Chapter" awards. As Tekes, we are committed to the principles of scholarship, community service, leadership, friendship, and athletics.
Because TKE is an active brotherhood, there are many annual events that never fail to bring us together. These events include our Red Carnation Ball, the Tekes of Hazzard date night, the Luau, and the White Elephant Christmas party, among many others. We are also committed to helping the community and those around us as seen by our support of the Ronald Reagan Alzheimer's Foundation, as well as volunteering for Adopt-A-Highway.
