Educational Talent Search is:  
  • A program designed to assist low-income and first-generation students in grades 6-12 to prepare for their future.
  • A service to help these students enroll into a secondary school that is best for them. 
  • For students with academic potential who want to continue their education beyond high school but need extra help. 
  • A group of people who encourages students and provides them with support that they need to give them the confidence and skills needed to succeed in middle school, high school, and college.
ETS offers the following services:
  • Academic, financial, career, or personal counseling including advice on entry or re-entry to secondary or postsecondary programs
  • Career exploration and aptitude assessment 
  • Tutorial services 
  • Information on postsecondary Educational Talent Search exposure to college campuses 
  • Information on student financial assistance 
  • Assistance in completing college admissions and financial aid applications 
  • Assistance in preparing for college entrance exams
  • Mentoring programs 
  • Special activities for six, seventh, and eighth graders 
  • Workshops for the families of participants
