UGA, Georgia Tech researchers receive first University System of Georgia Inter-Institutional Collaborative Grant
Ying Xu, director of the University of Georgia’s Institute of Bioinformatics, an authority on microbial genomic structures and pathway prediction, and Eberhard Voit, director of Georgia Tech’s Integrative BioSystems Institute, an expert on computational modeling of biological networks, have been awarded the first University System of Georgia Inter-institutional Collaborative Research Grant.

50 years of computing and technology
UGA's Enterprise Information Technology Services celebrates 50 years of computing and technology at a reception on May 27 from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Hill Atrium at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education Conference Center and Hotel. All UGA students, faculty, and staff are invited. Sweet treats will be served, and photographs and exhibits celebrating the rich tradition of computing and information technology will be displayed. The Owens Library
The Owens Library, located in G14 Caldwell Hall, holds material relevant to Landscape Architecture and Historic Preservation and the related fields. It is administratively separate from the UGA Libraries, and there is a separate catalog at the Owens Library to search the holdings. There are more than 7,000 volumes held in the library, including theses and senior projects. Journals, maps, videos, computer resources, images and Internet access are also available. The Owens Library is open to the public, and material can be checked out by patrons outside of the School of Environmental Design. For more information, contact René D. Shoemaker at 706/542-8292.
