The UGACard is the official University of Georgia identification card for students, faculty, staff and dependents.

UGACard Features

  • Color photograph
  • Bar Code
  • Your university identification number
  • Magnetic stripe
  • Your signature

UGA ID Number

Although you will use your social security number for such things as class registration and University payrolls, your UGACard will have a 16 digit identification number which will remain the entire time you are at UGA.

  • The first six digits are alike on all UGA ID cards (627541). This is the UGA identifier.
  • The next nine digits are your ID number. It will begin with 810 followed by six unique numbers assigned to you.
  • The last digit is your issue number. This number will change each time you have your card replaced.
  • For access to services where you use a keypad rather than swipe your card, you MUST enter your 10 digit ID number (beginning with 810 and include your current issue number at the end).

Card Security and Hand Scanning

After the UGACard Office produces your card the staff will scan your hand image to create access security for your card. This feature will prohibit another person from using your card to access University services.
