The UGA CMS is based in the UGA Hugh Hodgson School of Music and also the Performing Arts building. Parking on the campus is with permit only. Parking without permit is available in lot E7 after 4:00 PM and all other lots after 5:00 PM on weekdays. If you can only schedule lessons before 4:00 PM, you may park in the visitors spots in E11 parking lot outside of theHugh Hodgson School of Music. The fee is $5/day to pay in a collection box upon arrival for your lesson. If you would like to take advantage of a discounted parking rate, please contact the CMS director at ugacms@uga.edu to purchase parking vouchers in advance for $2 each. You will be required to purchase at least 5 vouchers at a time to last you 5 weeks of lessons. Please contact the director as soon as possible as vouchers not only need to be paid for in advance of the first time you need to use them but also have to get to you before your first lesson. For an entire semester of lessons before 4pm on weekdays, your total parking cost would be $28 for vouchers..
DIRECTIONS
The Hodgson School of Music is located on UGA's East Campus, off River Road north of Carlton Street. Ample free, well-lit parking is available adjacent to the facility.
The Hodgson School of Music is fully accessible to mobility-impaired patrons. For access to handicap parking spaces, follow signs to the Hodgson School of Music, bearing right on River Road past the Ramsey Student Center, and turn left into Lot E11 off River Road.
From Loop 10:
Exit at College Station Rd. and turn toward the University entrance at River Road. Turn Rt. onto River Rd. You will pass East Village dorms on your right and a parking deck and bus circle on your left. Then, the road will break into a “V”. Follow the road to the right towards the School of Music building. You will see construction on the left for the new School of Art. The next building on the left is the school of music building. You can park in the lot on your Right between 4:00 and 5:00. After 5:00 you are free to park in lot E07 or E11 without a permit.
From the West (Atlanta)
Take 85 North to exit 106 for 316 East to Athens. Travel 30+ miles to Athens; do not take the first Athens exit off 316 for Athens and Monroe. Instead, proceed 3.5 miles to the Loop 10 South exit for the University of Georgia. Take exit 7 off the Loop at College Station Road. Turn left onto College Station Road. At the second light, turn right onto River Road. Follow signs to Hodgson School of Music.
From the North (South Carolina)
Take 85 South to the Commerce exit and turn left onto 441 South to Athens. Travel 20+ miles to Athens. (Watch for the left-hand turn after the Bulldog Inn.) Stay on 441 South and take exit 7 at College Station Road. Turn right onto College Station Road. Take the first right onto River Road. Follow signs to Hodgson School of Music.
From the East
Take 78 West to Athens. (Watch for left-hand turn at the Waffle House.) Take exit 7 at College Station Road. Turn right onto College Station Road. Take the first right onto River Road. Follow signs to Hodgson School of Music.
From the South
Take 441 North to Athens. Take exit 7 at College Station Road. Turn left onto College Station Road. At the second light, turn right onto River Road. Follow signs to Hodgson School of Music. |
