Fees and Registration

Private lesson fees:
  based on 14 weeks of lessons per semester


Fall 2008: August 25 - December 8

 

(14) 30 minute lessons     $350/semester

 

(14) 45 minute lessons
$560/semester

 

(14) 1 hour lessons
$700/semester

All students enrolled in private lessons are eligible to participate in a coordinating free weekly group class.  See our  Registration form, or  Free Group class  page for class choices

Fall 2008 Melody Makers fees: 
$165 per semester

Fall 2008 Music Therapy fees:
$90 per semester

Fall 2008 UGA student Piano or Guitar Class fees:
$90 per semester

Fall 2008 Adult Piano or Guitar Group Class fees:
$90 per semester

Fee and Registration Policies

  • Lessons may not begin until at least half the tuition due has been paid.  The second payment must be made by the specified due date or a late charge of $25 will be added.  This due date is usually 6-8 weeks into the semester. All class tuition (not private lessons) must be paid in full before the first class.

  • There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee for all new students.  Returning students do not need to pay the registration fee. Families who enroll more than one family member as new students, will only pay one $15 registration fee.
  • Students may register at any time during the semester. Tuition will be pro-rated for missed lessons due to mid-semester registration. Students may not be eligible for free group class participation with mid-semester registration but will be allowed to join the appropriate group class for the following semester.

  • Once you register for lessons, it is expected you will continue lessons for the entirety of that semester.  There are no refunds of CMS fees except in unusual and unavoidable circumstances.  Emergency refunds will be determined on an individual basis.

  • A family discount is offered for families with more than one child enrolled in private lessons.  The discount will be $20 off tuition per child = $40 off total tuition for 2 students or $60 off total tuition for 3 or more students.   The maximum family discount is $60 per family. Discounts do not apply towards any tuition other than private lesson tuition.

  • Partial scholarships are available on a limited basis for cases of exceptional need.  Please consult the director for more information. 

  • Payment of all fees may be made by personal check, cashier’s check,  or money order.  Cash payments will not be accepted.  Payment by credit card is available in the CMS office by appointment.

  • Please make checks payable to UGA School of Music

  • When sending registration forms or checks in the mail, please be sure to include Community Music School in the address on the front of the envelope.

To Register:

1.) Fill out a registration form and mail it to the
address above with a check for at least 1/2 of
your total tuition.
2.) When your form and check are received, you
will be contacted by the director confirming your
payment. At that time, a teacher will be assigned
to you. Your teacher will contact you to schedule
the first lesson.
3.) For class registration, fill out the appropriate
form and send a check to the address above.
You will receive a confirmation with class details
(room, directions, teacher contact info, etc..) a
few days before the first class
