Research Interests:

Ecology of viruses, prokaryotes and microbial eukaryotes in marine and estuarine environments.  Monitoring the influence of environmental conditions on microbial gene regulation.  Linking gene regulation to microbial processes such as C or N fluxes.  Investigating the activity of viruses across salinity and pH gradients. Comparison of freshwater, estuarine, coastal and pelagic microbial populations and functions to determine various regulatory mechanisms on population composition and overall population function.
